I strongly believe in the counselling process.

This is based on the relationship between counsellor and client, built on trust of the counsellor to be professional, respectful and non-judgemental of the client. For the counsellor to uphold confidentiality at all times.

I will be alongside you to give an environment where you can explore whatever you need to, to enable understanding and where desired, change of yourself and/or your situation.

I have a diploma in Psychotherapeutic counselling obtained at Chichester Counselling Services.

I work with adults on an open-ended one to one basis.

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I work to the BACP Ethical Framework.

A selection of possible reasons for counselling:
Panic attacks
Work related problems
Emotional/Sexual abuse
Low self esteem
Relationship within your family
Feeling a need for change
Helping acceptance that things may have to stay as they are.
You can have as many or as few as you require. Some people start with six sessions and then decide to stay longer. Others have a break and then come back at a later date. There is no right or wrong, you can go at your own pace.

The initial assessment lasts for fifty minutes and is a meeting for us to talk about what has brought you to counselling and some background information. Also for us to decide if we can work together.

Counselling sessions last for fifty minutes and are held in the same room with me each week.

How often are the sessions?

The sessions last for 50 minutes and are at the same time every week.

How much do they cost?

Initial assessment: £20.00
Each session: £30.00

How long do I need to come?

As long as you feel you need to. Some people come for six weeks and stay on for a year, others stop and return at a later date when they feel they are ready to look at other areas of their lives.

What if I miss a session?

Missed sessions would be charged as normal and we would meet the following week. This charge can be negotiated if the cancellation is in advance.

How is the confidentiality upheld?

Everything that is discussed is treated as confidential, any details will not be discussed with anyone else with the exception of if it is thought that the client is in a place where they can harm themselves or others, and this would hopefully be with prior consent of the client.
